Confirmation 2022

Confirmation classes start June 26th at St. James

We are excited to announce our upcoming confirmation program starting this June and encourage you to participate. If you are new to St. James, new to the faith journey, or would like be confirmed to affirm your baptismal covenant—then confirmation is for you!

Confirmation is the response of anyone to the promises made at their baptism. It is a time of assuming the responsibilities of the Baptismal Covenant and is an intentional choice to deepen your relationship with God through mature membership and increased participation in the church community.

 We look forward to preparing all confirmands, at least 12 years of age and up, to be well versed in the Episcopal tradition, faith, and governance of the church. There are three categories for confirmation

 • Confirmed—For those who are new to the Episcopal Church tradition or who have never been confirmed;

Received into the Episcopal Church—For those coming from the Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, or Lutheran traditions who have already been confirmed;

Reaffirmed—For already-confirmed Episcopalians looking to reaffirm their confirmation covenant.

The Confirmation program will consist of six classes, offered one Sunday per month for six months, at 10 a.m. in The Lab. All classes will finish in time for participants to join the congregation for Eucharist. Upon completion of the final class, all participants will be confirmed, received, or reaffirmed during Bishop John Taylor’s pastoral visit on Sunday, Nov. 20th, at the 10 a.m. service.
