The members of the Ukrainian Cultural Forces, who were at St. James for the 10 a.m. service and then a concert following the service on Sunday, Nov. 10th, were all professional artists before the war, but are now active duty soldiers and frontline volunteers. They presented a wide variety of music, from Ukrainian and world classics to covers of popular hits and country tunes. Most artists fought in some of the fiercest battles of the war. After recovering from injuries, they got back to playing music.
The Cultural Forces brings together active service members and volunteers of artistic and creative trades. Through culture and the arts, they work to improve the troops’ morale and provide psychological support to soldiers in combat and recovery zones.
St. James was honored to welcome the Cultural Forces to Orange County on the second part of their 2024 U.S. tour.
