‘Breaking the Apocalypse Code’ looks at how the Book of Revelation, and other biblical voices, meet modern science

The end of the world fascinates us. Billionaires and survivalists prepare for it with well-stocked bunkers. Many Christians read biblical writings like Revelation for predictions of end-times events (known as the apocalypse). Books claiming last-days prophecy fulfillment in our lifetimes are perennial best-sellers.

Are they right about our times, and about the Bible? Why is the book of Revelation so strange? And how is any of this helpful for living now as Christians? Join Dr. Bill Yarchin and the team for a five-week Faith Lab series this fall as we explore what our Scriptures, our theology, and our scientists have to say about the end of the world. You might be surprised by what we uncover!

Week one (Sept. 14th): What are the origins of the idea of an apocalypse?

Week two (Sept. 21st): How did Jesus talk about it?

Week three (Sept. 28th): Why is the Book of Revelation called the apocalypse?

Week four (Oct. 12th): Does modern science have anything to say about it?

Week five (Oct. 19th): Is the apocalypse relevant for Christian spirituality?

If you aren’t able to attend one or more of the sessions, we will record each one and post the videos here and on our YouTube channel.
