At St. James the Great, we serve all children, youth, young adults, and all understandings of family.
At St. James the Great, we seek to find a common place where all members—regardless of history, affiliation, experience, or profession, can find and foster a relationship with God in community. Our family events and ministries are to be a place where anyone can experience loving relationship with our church through meaningful gatherings of work and play.
As a multi-generational church, we celebrate the gift of faith through worship, in conversation, through learning, in fellowship, and in service.

It’s almost the end of summer break, and everyone has started prepping for the beginning of a new school year. As our children head back to school, let us keep encouraging and speaking life into them. That means using words to affirm and build them up. It involves focusing on their positive qualities, offering specific and empowering praise, and praying for their well-being. This month, we will explore the book of Proverbs. The wise man Solomon left us a legacy of written wisdom. Proverbs cover a wide range of topics, including youth, wisdom and discipline. This book also gives us advice for developing relationships with friends, family members, and our community.
In short, it teaches us to apply God’s wisdom to daily life and to provide moral instruction. We will focus on making the verses relatable and applicable to our St. James Kids, and we will use age-appropriate language, connect the proverbs to real-life scenarios, and encourage memorization with fun activities. Have a blessed and safe school year and hope to see you soon!
Love,
Ms. Krishen and Miss Araceli
