Hearts for Haiti supported by St. James the Great

St. James the Great, Newport Beach, helps build medical clinic in Haiti through Hearts for Haiti Outreach

At St. James the Great, we believe that faith comes alive through service. Thanks to the continued generosity of our parish family, our Haiti outreach has reached an inspiring milestone.

Together, the St. James community helped raise the funds to support the construction of a free medical clinic in King’s Crown Village, Haiti. The clinic will provide much-needed medical care for widows, orphans, families, and surrounding communities where access to healthcare is extremely limited.

This achievement reflects the compassion and generosity of our parish members, whose faithful support continues to extend Christ’s love far beyond Newport Beach. In addition to the many individual gifts from our congregation, St. James was honored to contribute financially to this meaningful mission.

We are especially grateful to Georgeana Ireland, a longtime St. James parishioner, accomplished Newport Beach artist, and dedicated humanitarian whose vision and servant leadership have helped bring this outreach to life. Through years of faithful work, Georgeana inspired our congregation to partner in bringing hope, healing, and practical care to one of Haiti’s most vulnerable communities.

Throughout the project, Georgeana generously shared updates from Haiti through her social media channels, allowing supporters to witness the progress firsthand. Her photos and stories have shown how every prayer, donation, and act of generosity is making a lasting and sustainable difference for the people of King’s Crown Village.

Reflecting on this milestone, Georgeana shared:

“Thank you so much everyone for making a difference for the widows and orphans at this village and surrounding area with a free medical clinic!”

The Rev. Canon Cindy Evans Voorhees reflected on the journey:

“It has been a blessing to follow the progress of this project through Georgeana’s updates. Watching this mission unfold reminds us that, even from Newport Beach, our parish community can help bring healing, hope, and God’s love to people across the world. We are deeply grateful to every parishioner whose generosity made this possible.”

Stories like these remind us that every act of generosity creates a ripple effect. Together, we are helping build more than a medical clinic—we are helping build hope, dignity, and a healthier future for countless families.

To every member of the St. James the Great family, thank you for your continued generosity, prayers, and commitment to serving others.
